In this Vedic astrology video I go over the energies at play for this most auspicious Full Moon known as Guru Purnima happening in the Nakshatra of Uttara Ashadha this July 21st, 2024.
This Full Moon will illuminate for us the ways in which our karmas have brought us to the results which we are experiencing today, as well as give us the guidance as to what needs to change for us in order to evolve in a better light. Immediately after this Full Moon we move into the Month of Shravan, which is the most spiritual month dedicated to lord Shiva and is the perfect time in which to begin any Sadhana or spiritual practice. Whatever is begun in earnest at this time will yield great results if done with a pure heart and consistent dedication.
The mantra “Om Namah Shivaya” is the perfect mantra to begin reciting during Shravan Masa as well as fasting on Mondays as Monday is Lord Shiva’s day (Som-var). The Guru Mantra is a wonderful mantra to add to your Full Moon rituals this Full Moon as well as lighting a candle or deepam (ghee lamp) in gratitude for your teachers and guides in this life who have helped you to find your way or shown you the light. The Guru Mantra is: “Gurur Bramha, Gurur Vishnu, Gurur Devo Maheshvara, Gurur Saakshat Parambramai, Tasmai Shri Gurave Namaha”.
